Be aware of traffic detours second and third weeks of September as the milling and resurfacing of the 100, 200 and part of the 300 blocks of Main Street will take place, and weather permitting, will wrap up in two weeks, by Friday, September 21st.
Here's the first cut at the work schedule:
- Monday, Sept 10: 100 block and intersection of Main and Mason closed to remove the bricks in the cross-walks. Note: 200 block will dead-end at Mason; the intersection will be closed.
- Tuesday, Sept 11: 100 block open but dead-ends at Mason Street; traffic can exit via BSV lot. 200 block closed from Mason through the Institute Street intersection. Note: 300 block will dead end before Institute, though traffic will be able to exit via the BofA parking lot.
- Wednesday, Sept 12 to Friday, Sept 14: Main Street closed from Church Street through the Institute Street intersection and a bit beyond (to the BofA exit lane) for milling off the current surface and laying of the asphalt sub-surface. There will be NO on-street parking during the milling and paving work.
The progression repeats the week of September 17th for reinstallation of the brick crosswalks and laying of the cracked gravel on the road surface. The specific timeline will be confirmed in a week and, hopefully, not adjusted because of uncooperative weather next week.
Work will begin by 7:30 AM and wrap up by 5:00 PM. The street will be open to traffic overnight and on the week-end.
We apologize for any inconveneince this may cause.
